Believe or Not Tech can still win the Coastal Division

Seems crazy but true....Reports are coming out that there is a good chance that once Miami becomes bowl eligable they will withdraw from bowl consideration (again) in hopes of lessening pending NCAA sanctions...if they do that they cannot win the coastal division....North Carolina is not eligable to win this year....VT has three losses but still has to play FSU....So if Tech could beat NC and Duke (both big ifs)................

This speaks volumes about the level of ACC mediocrity

But the reports all that he would not be in on the decision; will be decided by the university prez and her administration....Seems to have caught alot of people off guard, including GT....Article about it is in this mornings AJC...No one is saying its a done deal, but apparently the powers at be at Miami are giving it strong consideration as a way to lessen the impact of the up coming penalties by the NCAA....

Why don't the NCAA just keep postponing their decision on Miami's punishment? That would essentially have Miami self imposing probation 4 EVA!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe so.

But GT plays to a half-empty stadium at every home game.

My point-- nobody cares what Tech does or doesn't do. And THAT is the real issue.

Of course if all this plays out as expected (beating NC is going to be hard, much less Duke too this year) Duke will win the coastal....Would be a big deal for those guys; last time they won the ACC (tied actually) was 1989 when Spurrier was still their coach; the year before we won the UPI version of the national championship...Making for an odd year; all their cheating is bringing down NC and Miami and VT is having an off year...
