Birds - what kind?

Hi folks, I took this pic up in Rabun county on 12/1. I saw this flock of birds in a pasture and was curious what kind they are. They were large birds...guessing standing about 3" tall. Image is kinda poor as all I had was my cell phone and it was on full zoom. Any ideas what they are? A couple of years ago there was a flock of white pelicans that spent some time on lake burton after getting blown off their flight patch (per DNR). I know these are not pelican, but was thinking some other type of large migratory bird that may have gotten blown off their normal route. I believe 12/1 we had a stiff wind flow from the east. Just curious

They look like sandhill cranes? If they are gray, that`s what they are.

Yes Sir, I’ve never kilt one but my buddy shot some in Texas and it sure was fine table fare.
