I think the biggest difference is I can get up in stand and get the blood flowing. Without a blind I’d be giving myself away more. That’s the probably the price for mobility.

I hunt from the ground regularly, When I need to stretch I look around and make sure nothing is in view, Stand up slow and do what is needed. Then sit back down and stay still. I feel if you are not seeing anything than probably they are not seeing you. Yes I know there will be the occasional deer that will be scared away but I don't think its as many as people think. Fact is deer are not always sitting there watching you.
I don't use a blind just sit against a good size tree or behind some brush. Makes moving to a new spot easy if you aren't seeing anything. Also makes scouting and hunting new areas easy if you hunt areas you are not familiar with.

Best one I've ever seen/used is
The Ameristep "Dog House".

Lots of room, for a kid too if you need it.
They don't noticeably fade or get the
"white neon" look either.

360* vision and "shoot through" mesh
ports if you bow hunt.

Keeps the wind and rain off of you too.

I bought mine to Turkey hunt with but
about 3-4 years I buddied up with my new neighbor.
I let him hunt with me on Dad's
farm and he liked it too.

I felt at that time I was good enough Turkey
hunter not to need
a blind so he bought it from me.

Less than $100.00. Packs in one swift
move and comes with it's
own back pack. All you need is a
comfortable chair and your gear.

I was so impressed, if I ever buy
another one it would be that one.

I've had some health issues
lately and I might go buy another one.

Get one. I promise you will love it
and it is a really good blind.

Hope this helps !

This follows my general thinking of less is more, don’t complicate things as it’s just more to go wrong.

That is a downside.

I’m 5’8” so not quite as much a problem.

Looking at them on YouTube, looks light and easy to setup, thanks.

I have used a hammock seat and a six foot long piece of camo fabric that is stapled to three wood dowels for years. can be set up in seconds super light weight I have had deer walk to within just a few feet of me and not spook.

I have one of those. It' s a good blind, I just don't fool with setting it up and using it very often.

I use this X stand tree seat, or an old "milking stool" I made. Both are very comfortable, light and portable.

I second the " Dog House ". I normally just sit against a tree with a Millennium seat but with all the rain we had this year I was getting soaking wet, Bought the blind and stayed dry in the pouring rain.
