Calling coyotes in the mountains

Thread starter #1
You guys that hunt in the mountains, where do you have your best luck? Hunting valleys and creek runs? Ridges?

I’ve hunted in the midlands and peidmont for 15+ years but only a few times up in the mountains. Since I live near them I want to try it up there as we have a ton of national forest hardly called on by anyone.

Any tips, especially for non-farmland/mountain areas are greatly appreciated.
I've had more luck calling yotes will deer and Turkey calls. Try to set up where wind is blowing off a bluff . I would wait till conditions are dry and wind is calm so you can hear them coming. Otherwise they will be on top of you in no time.
