Tell u what else we seen, wish I could a got a picture, winding around Mtn this morning seen a snake curled up in middle of hwy. Slowed to a stop beside of it cause there was no traffic out, it was the biggest rattle snake I ever seen in these parts, 12 buttons on tail, solid black head, he was curled so I could not see how long but as big around as a 2in PVC pipe. He was just sun bathing, tire was about 6 in. From him and he never struck, guess he was cold

Don't know where those pics are from, but I sure would like to go there! I haven't been up that way in years.

I love that area. We actually looked at buying in to Unicoi Springs a few years back when it was a $3500.00 buy in and yearly fees were only $325.00 a year. Now we usually camp at either Vogel or Unicoi Springs State Park. There are few private campgrounds in that area between Helen and Blairsville that are really nice too. So many good choices up that way.

Yes I agree, Vogel is my choice as well. I've done ALOT of motorcycle camping out of Vogel over the years. Last year we had four sites, 12 bikes in total (10 offroad-dual purpose, 2 street) and rode for a week up there. On the offroad-dual bikes we mainly ride the forest service roads and trails, on the sreet bikes we play on the paved mountain roads and curves.
