CMC joint surgery

Anyone had this done?
Had left thumb ✂ a few weeks ago.
Just wondering how long to healthy
again.
Thanks for any advice.

You mean where they dig out the joint in the base of your thumb? I had that done a few years ago

That be the one. Bad thing is Dr scared as a boar hog with 5 plott hounds on his back side and only gave scrip for 40 7.5/3.25.

After I got the cast off, thumb wouldn't move at all. Started physical therapy that day. Took several weeks before I could touch thumb and pinky finger. You can google the surgery and see it done... don't eat before you watch it tho.... ask me how I know

I did all that before i had it done. Google said up to one year for full recovery.
I know i won't have the udder one done.

It did take a while but I don't think it took a year. I got probably 99% mobility and strength back in 6 months or so. Physical therapy was well worth the time and pain investment.
