If McCain is the nominee of the Republican party, will you vote for him?

Nope.

Nope - not a chance. Ron Paul was my candidate. I'll either vote Libertarian (most likely) or perhaps for Obama (just for spite). I will not vote for the Hildabeast or for McCain.

Yep, sure will.

Hey Hogtown, explain to me how you vote for Obama when Ron Paul was your man? The two seem to be mutually exclusive. One is the consummate libertarian, to a fault, the other the consummate socialist. Something doesn't add up.

If he makes a public commitment of no amnesty, I will likely hold my nose and vote for him...otherwise I just don't think I can stomach voting for him knowing the potential impacts amnesty will create for my children's generation......

I don't care what Rush , Ann or Sean tells you McCain would still be better than either of the other two .

Elfiii - it makes no sense - I realize that. If (and its a pretty big if) I vote for Obama it will be out of pure spite. I am a carrot and a stick guy. The GOP has stunk up the joint so I think they deserve the stick. So in summary, it would be for spite, vengence, retribution, etc...

"I don't care what Rush , Ann or Sean tells you McCain would still be better than either of the other two ".

You are exactly right. Sean, Rush, and many others are not the end all and say all of the conservative party.. I'm so conservative I make them look like a Carl Marx wannabe....

But, I won't cut off my nose, to spite my face... It seems to me that some of you guys that are still mad that you don't have your "dream candidate" to pull us up by the boot straps.. I guess you'll just take your ball and go home.. When will you realize that the DEMS have outsmarted us for years... They take every inch they can get! It's call incrementalism. They are very good at it.. But I guarentee that if they lose the election, it won't be becasuse they didn't unite behind their candidate after the primaries are over.

Get in power, stay in power, fix the tax code, stand up for what right every time..

Some of us do realize it. It is the ones that think like you that have not threw off the blinders and realize that you have been led down the primrose path, and now you'll cast your vote for one of them.

So you are willing to take the personal setback of 4 years of Democrat controlled government to teach the GOP a lesson it probably is or has already learned?

Not me. I'll teach the lesson as we go along.

I'm not so blinded that I will hand them the oval office just to prove how angry I am with the GOP. I'm angry too, but I want lay down and give in totally.. Show me a viable alternative to Obama, Hillary, and I'm all ears. Other than that, I'll just blindly trod along until somebody real steps up. I'll take a bad GOP over a really Bad DEM any day.

By the way I don't smell primrose, but I'm not ready to stick my head in horse crap either!

Where's "Mr. Smith" when you need him!

elfiii, you and I obviously have a differing point of view regarding all this. That said, I understand your willingness to fight within the party. What do you think it will take for the GOP to change the classroom plan? Or do you think it will likely continue down the 'liberal' path

It has proceeded down the "liberal path" because most of the foot soldiers and leadership of the Reagan/Gingrich Revolution days are gone - Armey, Delay, Kasich, Watts, Scarborough and a host of others.

What it is going to take is new real conservative leadership from the grassroots level. Newt's new project is a good example of what is needed - school for future conservative candidates. Learn the message, how to stay on message and how to sell the message - "Less government means more personal freedom".

Rush is right, conservatism wins everytime it is tried. There are too many "half hearted conservatives" in D.C. Maybe they no longer have the "fire in the belly" for the fight and have decided to get along to go along. In any event, they are "wore out" or co-opted by machine politics. We need new leadership. The kind that isn't afraid to mix it up. That means "Young turks", not old has beens.

Currently, I like Mike Pence as well as the other members of the Republican Study Group. These are the true "movement conservatives" left in the House. We need more like them.

All the republican elites keep thinking we MUST have been told WHAT TO DO...

Obviously McCain has a problem. Based on the results thus far on this poll, he is unelectable.

Go McCaint!:flag:
