Cooper's Creek First Two Days

Wednesday and Thursday were slow. I heard only 4 shots. I talked with the technicians at the check station and through Wednesday only 4 deer. No Bear. We hunted two drainages and looked hard but did not find 1 white oak acorn. We found 3 red oak acorns. Talked with some other hunters and they said the same. A lot of fresh hog sign.

I heard the muzzleloader hunt total was low but haven’t confirmed this. My son and I were planning on hunting on this hunt but after a day of scouting our favorite area, we chose to stick with a different spot on the National Forest where we’ve found more sign. We were disappointed with what we found in an area that generally has a lot of fresh sign this time of year. I look forward to seeing how many get killed on this hunt.
