Do late sprayed herbicides affect dove feeding?

I have about 5 acres of sunflowers and the season starts here in a week. I've mowed several strips for the birds and they're coming in pretty good but last week's (and this week's) rain really has the pigweed jumping (and seeding out). Since the sunflowers are already dead and dry, Im thinking about spraying some 2-4D or maybe some Crossbow to kill the pigweed, or at least slow down the seeds that will haunt me next year. Problem is, Im afraid the herbicide may make the seed "taste bad" or something? The birds are coming in good and I dont want to do anything to turn them away. With seeds on the ground will the herbicide affect how the birds are feeding?

It won't harm anything, just might give them a little saltier taste.

Nah it won’t affect their feeding habits at all. I do it every year.

Thanks for the info. I'll spray em as soon as the rain lets up a bit.
