Last year I let a 2.5 year old 8 point walk. He had a spread of about 14-15" and beings that I had already taken a nicer one, I let him walk and took the doe he was with.

One week later, same stand, Dec. 19th a big "doe" steps out into the food plot right at dark. Needing meat, I dropped "her". When I went to get "her" I discovered it was a buck that had shed BOTH antlers.

Again, both a little before Dec. 19th because both antler sockets were scabbed over pretty good...

I have no idea why he shed them so early.

A friend of mine killed a buck in Spalding County yesterday and it had five points on one side and a bloody spot where the other side should have been.
