Close. About 15 miles north of the Ocklawaha, in the old 9 Mile Swamp. That place was crawling with bears too. There was some good hunting in there.

Still is good hunting in there. 9 mile swamp highway 20 it's a four lane now, bet it looked way different back then. Thanks for sharing I have never seen a panther, but bears putnam county is slap ate up with them

Yea, it was just a 2 lane when I was there for 2 years. 1975 to 77. Those were some purty woods. I actually did more turkey hunting in there than anything.
