View attachment 956217My 6 month old GSP is having no problem finding some wild birds! This was one covey of 15. The next day he found 3 more the same size. Quail are still around you just got to work a little harder for them. Every bird had pecan pieces in its crawl

Private property, right?

Years ago in an abandoned pecan grove we shot quail that had pecan bits in them. I suppose they were scraps from squirrel activity. It's great that you have your pup out hunting at 6 months. That's how they learn. Gil

While the amount of birds on public land doesn’t compare to private land, the large amount of public land in middle Ga does hold a huntable population but it is on a small amount of the land. I’m not going to divulge on a public forum where those properties are but they can be found fairly easy with today’s technology.
