Got in the stand early just before daylight. Around 9:00 a big bodied 6 point ran passed me, but I didn't get a shot.
About 30 min. later this 8 point showed up and was fixing to bolt as I drew back and I took a shot at him while he was trotting at about 20 yards. I heard the the rage plow right through rib, so I got down and my arrow was covered in blood.
The blood trail was really strong and he piled up about 40 yards from where I shot him.
I'm thankful to have taken this deer as the first one of the season!
