First trout on a fly rod

I woke up early this morning and left at 5AM to head to the Tallulah river. I arrived at around 7:30AM and found a deep pool to try out. I tied on a hopper with a y2k dropper. First cast upstream. The hopper drifted into the pool the disapeared. The fight was on. Ended up landing a bow around 15 to 16 inches. Went to remove the hook and take his pic and he slipped out of my hands and back in he went.

Tried another pool and landed this guy.

When I was not having any bites. I was enjoying how beautiful it wa around me.

On the way back home I stopped by Wildcat Creek and caught a bow under a bridge. It is amazing playing the mind game with trout. What fly will they eat today.

Enjoyed the trip. If the small guys put up a good fight imagine what I huge one will feel like. Looking forward to the test

Congratulations, nicer than your creek chub last time. Unusual set up but it seemed to work. Now you should try pay to play if you want to land some big one's like fern valley or Unicoi private water.

Tried about every nymph but y2k dropper was only think they would bite. Got one bite on Adams on top water but missed it.

I also hiked and fished some on coleman creek off of tallulah. Only thing I did there was lose two flies in the limbs. It is pretty though. Is there wild bow and browns in the coleman?

I have fished that bridge on Wildcat before. Trying to picture the little water fall.

Congrats on the fish.

First and foremost congrats. I caught my first ever trout there. I was there last week for three days and pulled some monsters out of there. Only shared the river with one other person those days. After catching my first fish on a fly I had to set a new goal and catch a fish on a fly I tied myself. Again congrats

I think a stocker. Good eating size. Usually you can tell from the fins on bottom. Gets worn down from the concrete in the hatchery raceways.
