Make no mistake about it. I love to fish, and I love fishing in Crooked Creek. I enjoy hosting folks and doing what I can to help my guests have a good time and a positive experience.
I had just installed the new seat of honor in the Carp Shark and I knew just the fellow to test it out. I had no idea that on this very day a year ago that Tony Briggs was my guest. Without knowing that bit of history, the stage for our adventure was set for today. As Tony quietly eased into the new seat, I knew in my bones that today was going to be a humdinger!
Our goal today was to drown a few worms on our Telescopic Poles and or light Spinners and maybe catch some Catfish bait. If lucky, maybe we might even catch an eatin’ size catfish or two in the process.
Something magical happens when you paddle up the Creek with Max and the Ol Captain. Once you pass the last house up from us the years, like layers of unnecessary garments, begin to shed away. For three and a half hours this morning two men and an old dog who have all been around the Horn to a degree, became boys (or pups) again.
We laughed, we shared, and we praised God that we are blessed with the health and the opportunities to do the things we do. For the record, I enjoy fishing with almost anyone. But I love fishing with Tony Briggs (who is over 80 yrs young.)
We hope you enjoy the photos!!
