Fly fishing lagoons and marshes

Anyone have any good tips or tricks to use fly fishing marshes and lagoons? Any suggestions on flies to use?

I'll be fishing the coast the last week of June and really want to try to catch some decent fish on a fly pole while I'm down there.

Plans have changed a little. Now it seems we are going to Seabrook Island in SC. Lots of marshes and lagoons.

Fishing will be on foot. I may try some surf fishing as well. Just trying to figure out a general plan of attack.

I'm taking a 6wt 9' fly rod with floating line. I can swap it out with sink tip or sinking line if I need to.

You might be a tad under gunned for reds and trout if that is your target. Spoons, gummy minnows, clousers, any minnow type patterns that tickle your fancy. I have used bass flies and done well in those areas.
