Gemstones in the Bible!

Being a bit of a rock collector got me thinking about the role of gemstones in the Bible. Certain gemstones representing other things, etc. Precious metals as well.

The breastplate of the High Priest that had 12 gemstones that represented the 12 tribes of Israel.
12 gemstones to be used for the foundation of the New Jerusalem.

Was wondering where all of these gemstones came from and the importance of God using them within his Kingdom. Ancient travelers and traders could be an explanation.

While these gems represented things they literally adorned the breastplate.

Ezekiel 28:13
You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.

Was this King of Tyre possibly Lucifer? When was he adorned with these precious stones?
