It’s gonna be a great trip. First off it’s a new adventure, which means you’ll hnt hard. The Shawnee as others have said is very chopped up, you may find yourself on 300 acres or 3000. I went for thre straight years before any of the ice storms and it was amazing how many deer and good deer we saw. Bring a climber and a lock on to better your odd. Be aware if you’re there close to the shot gun opener the traffic will increase 10 fold.
Last bit of advice don’t hesitate to shoot a doe, cause the meat of those corn and bean fed deer sure is tasty.
