First post (sorry it’s not a report!]. Im a temporarily displaced coastal Georgian that is in Atlanta near Decatur through Jan while my daughter is being treated in the transplant unit at Emory. I’m a retired navy vet (& Christian) & want to wet a line for crappie or panfish anywhere near Atlanta or SE towards Savannah. Just trying to take my mind off things for a few hours outside in nature -half day trips are best. Any leads on area guides that specialize in calico bass (crappie) or fishing advice is greatly appreciated. Prefer weekdays since retired. Let me know of a park or trail that could work for tossing ultralight jigs around, or a boat rental to suggest.. Have own gear, & can clean a boat if needed. Thanks In advance! Prayers for my daughter Ellen are appreciated. Equipment is 5’4” UL rod, Daiwa 1000, 4# KastKing, 2” Berkley on 1/32 oz jig).

Also, I should have my 14‘ Jon in Atlanta in a few weeks, so opportunities for weekday fishing larger bodies like area reservoirs & lakes for panfish will become available. Savannah area panfish suggestions are appreciated too.

PM or text me if anything’s top secret! Thanks, —Craw (Dave 321848581 (last # is a 6)

Once you're jon boat is up, you can try Lake Acworth (electric only) or Sweetwater Creek Res. (can bank fish here), they're on the opposite side of town but fishable year round.
