Been a heck of a season. Killed the first bird on opening day. That was the 3rd property I had went to that morning. I struck him and he came in hammering. It was around 12:00. Went again on Monday and killed a bird on another tract at around 1:45. My oldest son was with me but the bird never presented him a shot and was about to exit out the backdoor so I took the shot. On the way home we stopped at a tract I hadn’t been to in 2 years. Wanted to just do a quick ride through and check it out before hunting it another day. Well, we struck a bird and he was close. We set up and within 20 minutes he was down. My son got his first turkey. He was pumped and very proud. Kinda bittersweet my season ended so quick but my son’s got one more bird so I’ll have the pleasure of taking him.
