Does anyone have any experience with a guided elk hunt in Idaho?
I have been tossing around the idea of a DIY hunt on public land and realized I will probably be better off hiring a guide as it will probably be my only trip over the next 10-12 years. I had rather spend a little extra money and increase my odds on filling a tag. Although I have never been elk hunting, I feel the most difficult parts would be finding the elk and knowing the terrain. As a turkey hunter, my confidence level is much greater when I hunt areas where I know the terrain, even if the turkeys are not gobbling very much. I would think the same would apply with elk. Therefore, I am looking for a good reputable guide who makes a living knowing the terrain and locating elk. Thanks for your input.
