I put one down earlier this year that got hung in someone's fence the same way. The neighbor said it happens a few times a year on this particular fence. I noticed several of the spikes were broken off the fence where deer had been hung on them. It was pretty sad. I would never put one of them fences on my property.

I’ve had to help dispatch a couple does on fences like this - good luck with the knife, they’re scared to death and hurting in that position. I think those horns would’ve won all day long

You think a deer hung on those fences is bad, wait til you see a kid hung on one of those fences. I can still hear him screaming.

Hard to see. Thats not an end fitting of any critter. Sad.
