Is it legal in ga to hunt deer and large game with hard cast bullets? The regs say expanding bullets . most hard cast do not.expand much.

They do expand, depending on the style of bullet you are casting. I use to hunt with a .45LC in a Blackhawk. I heated the loads up a bit, and shot a semi-wad cutter. I got all kinds of penetration with that load.

Yes, legal. You want something softer for deer unless you need a low recoil load. Hard cast doesn't need much juice to poke a hole clean through. It's not much more than just a hole, though.

All of my cast bullets are COWW with occasionally a touch of tin. I never have fired store bought bullets in my .44. One good hole in and out will leave a fine blood trail if it runs off. And most likely it won't go far.

They just don’t want you using FMJ bullets.
