Just in a recent thread on a rifle "hollow point" debate, I asked why shoot hollow points at deer size game. briarpatch99 pointed out a few good opinions.

AND if you remember I pointed out that the Hollow Pointed Bullets I spoke of were designed for DEER size animals, like the Sierra Gameking HP bullets and the Hornady 120 grain that was made in .25 caliber ...

I have never killed anything with a 10mm ... but my neighbor killed a nice Black bear with his using Hornady 155 Grain XTP ...

There is no reason a well placed shot with any 10mm HP bullet designed for hunting ... will not kill a deer at a "reasonable" distance ...

I know there are folks that will never believe ... I can accept that ...

I will ask YOU ALL this question .... Do any of you all shoot "Tipped" bullets of any sort at deer? IF you do ....THEN You shoot Hollow Point bullets ... they only have the piece of plastic in the hollow point ... Do you think that TINY piece of plastic killed the deer?
