Why's your boy Miles gotta be runnin of at the mouth, when it was Saban that recruited his NC boys for him?? So he beat a Shula recruited team, so what??

Ol' Les might regret that little statement come Nov. 8th.:bounce:

<!--Start story body -NGS 02/07/08-->BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — LSU’s Les Miles will be in the first group of coaches Wednesday to meet with reporters during SEC Football Media Days.
Sunday, he probably ensured that he will be a prime topic of conversation.
Speaking to a crowd of more than 500 LSU fans in a Tiger Tour stop at the Hilton Riverside hotel in New Orleans, Miles made an offhand comment regarding LSU’s victory over Alabama last season.
Miles’ Tigers beat the Crimson Tide, coached last season for the first time by former LSU coach Nick Saban, 41-34 in Tuscaloosa. The Tigers went on to win the BCS national championship.
According to The Times-Picayune of New Orleans, Miles cautioned LSU fans “not to make too much of that game, as it seems like a lot of teams in Louisiana beat that team.”
Miles’ reference was to Alabama’s 21-14 loss to Louisiana-Monroe last year, two weeks after falling to LSU. The defeats were part of a four-game losing streak to end the regular season for the Crimson Tide, which finished 7-6 after an Independence Bowl victory over Colorado.
Miles’ comment was already the talk of local sports radio in Birmingham, two days in advance of his appearance with center Brett Helms and defensive end Tyson Jackson at SEC media days in suburban Hoover.
Saban and Alabama players will make their appearance at media days Thursday.
Alabama plays at LSU on Nov. 8 this season.

Might is a BIG word.... I would be more worried about Clemson before I thought about LSU, at LSU...:bounce:

One good recruiting class and there goes the neighborhood..

I agree with you, 60. I might could have won with a Saban recruited team. Miles is not "my boy". I don't really like him because I think his team is undisciplined - hence leading the league in penalties last year. However, he did impress me when he showed the confidence in the LSU players by going for it on 4th down and converting many more times than not. And it's hard to speak out against a coach who did just win the BCSC.

There is no doubt that Saban put LSU on top, and the success from his recruits is helping Miles continue to land top recruits. I just hope Miles can do as much with his recruits as he did with Saban's.

Of course, my mighty Warhawks of ULM just put a good ole butt whoopin on them Bama boys! And Bama was just too scared to schedule them this year!

Les is the coach, he called the plays but it was the team that came up with what needed to be handled on the field. Got to give them boys credit.

You just hit the nail on the head!! Luck was definately on his side..

Nothing lucky about a Disciplinarian Coaching Style.

You drill you guys on that kind of insane 4th down stuff and you teach them to execute when you call a play, not to think.

Obviously they executed those plays without a second thought.

Point is, can he continue to recruit more boys that have the ability to follow orders when needed?

Not too bad with this 2009 recruit if we can get him signed and them keep him out of trouble (thanks Ryan Perrilloux!) once he gets here.
