Honda CR-V 2000 model?

My pops ride. The taillights will not turn off. All other lights work perfectly. Any suggestions. If it was the brake lights I would think it’s the brake switch, but that’s not it. There is no obvious fuse or relay shorted or blown. The only obvious choice would be the light bulbs or the headlight switch. Thanks in advance.

Are the taillights the only thing on ? front running lights not on ? Any work done recently on the vehicle ? any at all ?

After a quick google search it could be a relay in the interior fuse panel, if the relay sticks closed even after you turn the switch off it would do that, quick way to check is pull the relay and see if the lights go out, it could be the main light switch, but I'd check the relay first

No work done other than a new battery. Accident free vehicle. And yes the taillights are all that are on. Blinkers work, headlights, brakes and reverse all turn on and off properly.

Ended up being the brake switch. Put a bolt in it and we are good.
