Hurricane Inflation- Gas Is Up

Here on the NC coast. Went up town this morning to pick up a couple of items at the grocery store. Food Lion had boston butts for .99 cents per pound and hot dog wieners on sale also the good beef stuff. Gas was 359.9 up from 3.33.9 in just one day. Even the thought of a storm and yep, time to raise up the gas prices got to have a little more profit for the go juice.

Here we are expecting a tropical storm if even that, lots of heavy rain but winds for us around 20-30 mph so they say now. We can live with that and we need the rain.

there is a refinery in Texas that had a fire and is shut down, so supply is down. That probably has more to do with the price increase than the storm coming in

I believe we lock down gas prices in the state within a certain timeframe of hurricane landfall.

You have to take into account that Labor Day Week-end is upon us also come Friday. Holidays always have an influence on gas prices in our area. More people coming to the beaches for one last summer fling, big droves of them on the highway starting Friday. More vehicles to fill up equals more profits for the gas companies.
