I found a ton of these on my land, they look like chants but I am no expert. They look like google pictures of chanterelles. What do you guys who know about them say?
You really need to show a picture of the underside/fertile surface, but it looks like a smooth chanterelle (Cantharellus lateritius,) to me. There are several different species of chanterelle. Most are delicious, including that one, if it's what it appears to be.
Thanks for the ID, I'm going tomorrow and picking some to go with my dinner tomorrow. My place on the echoconee creek has tons of them and I never realized what they are. Thanks again!
