Keaton beach 10/5/19

3 of is we’re supposed to go this morning. But as I was hooking up the boat one called and said he was sick. So Lavonne and I headed out at 5:30. After a couple stops we launched and headed out the canal.

. Headed down in front of Yates and got to fishing.

. Nothing but shorts and this little red. Was absolutely beautiful out there today.

. Felt so good to be out today. Had not been since April. But we wanted some fish and where we were wasn’t working. So we ran a short way back towards Keaton and immediately started picking up fish. Made repeated drifts over the area and got out limit of trout.

. Headed on in at 1:30

.

. Had an easy time at the ramp and breezed on home to clean the boat and the fish.

. Great day with a great friend. Can’t wait to go again.

I haven't been since April either so I'm looking forward to hopefully a similar trip in 2 weeks

Nice box of fish. You catch them around Yates Creek.

Best trip in a while. Caught lots of shorts and no trash.

Nice. Been to Steinhachee several times, but not up to Keaton. Looks like nice scenery too. How do the two places compare?

Nice. Been to Steinhachee several times, but not up to Keaton. Looks like nice scenery too. How do the two places compare?

No marina or store, but we usually hit Wilsons in Perry on the way down. Its a half hour closer to us than Steinhatchee. Other than the idle out the canal(1/4 mile or so) I like fishing Keaton. Can get in and out no matter the tide.

Fished at Keaton Saturday then spring warrior Sunday. Good weather for sure. The kids had a blast doing work on the trout.

Filleted and cut out the red meat they ain't bad. Kids wanted to keep em.
