You should be ok. I have an older Rem 870 Wingmaster full choke that i have shot Bismuth through and have had no problems.

THanks. It's high as rip but I'll put a couple boxes on the Christmas list so I can use old glory a couple of times in the future.

Some of us wouldn't consider an M37 made in the 60's or 70's "old" for the purposes of using modern ammo. To help you pin down the exact year of mfg., go to:

For some reason, the active site no longer lists the serial numbers and year of mfg., but the "wayback" machine found it. Gil

It's a 74 model. Yeah agree it isn't "old" regarding modern ammo but I can't shoot steel out of a full choke

I have looked at a new barrel etc but if I did that I would be half way in price to buying a new benelli pump

Your other option is to have the choke opened unless you have further use for FC. IC or Mod are more versatile and can handle steel easily. This is a 2 3/4" gun, isn't it?
