Lake Oconee / where to stay?

Im looking at heading to Oconee in a couple of weeks for some big cats.
Gone spend 2-3 days. Looking at mid lake. Wheres the best place to stay?

The Lodge on Hwy 44 unless you are looking for camping. Old Salem if you want to camp.

I thought Old Salem was closed for the season?

Might be. My house is in that area. Never camped a night there but have caught the lake record blue and flathead right there on the road bed ( both records since broken).
