Out on a full day with Alan and Dennis...and what a day it was. Concentrated on creek mouths - points and humps with topwater and swimbait - then eased in to drop shot. Dennis showed up with a new Revo reel and St.Croix rod...so we needed to break that sucker in
Alan and Dennis are both good fisherman...a lot of trash talking was flowing...but still good fisherman. I will add - Dennis is a Auburn fan...that should say plenty
We lost 5-6 toads that we had hooked and pulled off...I mean some toads....but, still boated 31 fish with some good ones and some little ones. Around noon...we were sitting at 16 fish and I said, "lets get to 25".
Around 3pm...we were sitting at 24 fish and I said "we need one". If you've been out with me, you know how I set a goal. "The goal is one fish...after that, we go to 5...then to 10...then to 15" and on and on.
We pulled up to our last two places and went on a flurry...topwater, swimbait, and drop shot....Bam - 7 in the boat in short time including a nice striper. Had we boated the fish lost...it was a 40 fish day! Heck - we even felt like some selfies today. Wow...we were on some serious schools today as you can see on the sonars.
Great fun...trash talking started when we met at the ramp. Just a ton of fun today with a ton of fish caught. Blue Lily, test worm Natural Shad, and Herring did the damage in Fruity Worms. Alan was dropping Robo's Aaron's Morning Dawn. Back out Thursday... LJ
