Out on a half day trip with George and Danny. George started getting the bug big time last year and Danny hasn't fished much in many years. So - the goal was "1" as I tell everyone.
Pulled up to the first stop around 8:15am....and I worked with Danny to get his casting back in sync. After a few minutes, Danny got his mojo back! First long cast on a point, Danny sticks his first spotted bass on a Shakey Head...yeah, I felt good on that one
Kept moving fishing specific long secondary points with rock...they had to have some deep water near by. I was looking for flats on those long points. The hot colors today was Spot Tail, and Natural Shad (which is killer)!
At 10am, we had 6 in the boat when George sticks a fish and boats him. No toads this morning, just good keepers with the biggest going about 2.5#. While boating those fish...we lost another 6-7 that we had on and didn't get in the boat...so our execution was on the weak side. I know there is a great bite on another pattern but we stayed off the main lake while learning a few things.
Kept moving....and boated another fish on the drop shot that I saw on the Humminbird. Not a bad morning with 8 fish in the boat and a lot of laughs...off the water at noon after Danny's first 64 mph boat ride back to the dock. I think he messed his pants a little
