At our house up in the hills, my neighbor gave me a 18" high, 42" diameter natural gas main cut that is absolutely awesome. It is almost an inch thick. I stacked old 100 year old bricks around it and we enjoy it.

Works 100 times better than anything built with straight brick and mortar, IMO.

Since I work in the commercial tire industry, this is what we have!!!! We are getting ready to level and rock around it.

24.5 big truck rim. Cost was free because the driver hit a curb and damaged it.

That’s what we have at the hunting shack. Biggest weber kettle grate fits it perfectly, too.

You should be able to pick up a damaged rim for free! Just check with several commercial tire companies.

I thought about using a 22.5 super single wheel due to the depth, but all we have are aluminum and I don't trust building a good fire in aluminum.

Check around you might find a steel super single wheel somewhere, but they are scarce around here.
