You should be able to obtain information about The Loftin Classic Traditional Archery Tournament in Grenada, Ms from the Grenada Chamber of Commerce. I will try to find more information for you, such as numbers and emails.

Seems like the year I was up there, around 700 (may be wrong) archers entered into the different categories.

I am pretty sure that if you go and win this tournament you have accomplished something.

There will be all types of Traditional Archery Vendors there. It is a fun event. I highly reccommend it.

Finally I've gotten in contact with the tourism council in Grenada, MS and they have sent me some info on this tournament.

Click on this link for some general info about the tourney. http://www.inheatscents.net/loftinclassic.html

Toward the bottom of the page is a link that saysClick here for printable 2 page PDF file (or something like that.

About 185K (I think).

They are supposed to send me new information as they get it. I will keep you posted. AS of now they dont have a website and I am posting info on my website to help them get the word out.

I need to start going to the trad shoots again; I went to one about every weekend when I was in Texas and always had a blast. Thanks for the info.

A blast is pretty much what this shoot is. Family-oriented big fun, and serious tournament shooting.

Glad it interested someone. I try to make posts that will have something of interest in them.

I usually go to Cloverdale, IN and Compton, MI since they are back to back weekends in June, which is the best time of year up north.

Both a lot of fun and have great industry turn out, Dale and Jeff with 3rivers Archery, Bill and Linda with Great Plains, Wensel boys, and Dave W. who is building the new silvertip's.

Plus you can get some magically delicious Indiana sweet corn while you are there!!!

The Loftin Classic is a great bunch of people. I shot primative archery with Bobby Loftin for 3 years before moving here to Georgia in 1991. We were at the first Loftin classic in 1989 or 90 , It's been so long I'm not sure. Grenada Lake is a nice place, I was raised about 20 miles from there in Coffeeville, MS.
