March Trip, Sinclair or Oconee

We are looking at talking a trip up to either Lake Sinclair or Oconee around the fourth weekend of March. If you were to pick from the two choices, which lake would you pick and what fish would you target? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Those two lakes are basically connected by the river and not far apart.

Go for Sinclair. Several reasons, bigger fish , more cover docks and such and
if thwy are not pulling water on Oconee the fishing can be tough. Both are great
lakes.. E.

Oconee, hands down.

Sinclair is full of dinks and trash fish.

There close enough together you can easily fish both in the same day and figure out which ones is better that day

The fish in my avatar is one of those Sinclair dinks! Haha! Plenty of great fish in both.

Thanks for the replys, we have been leaning toward Sinclair. Primarily targeting catfish and crappie. Some linesides would be nice but we have never targeted them before.

I catch linesides on Sinclair just about year round fishing the dock lights. It gets really good around the time your talking about.try up in murder creek,little river and rooty creek.

lake by name...

That’s a hard choice. I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either choice that time of year!

I book a place last night on the north end of Sinclair, about 4 miles down from the Oconee dam. We will be there Thursday night through Sunday afternoon, depending on where the fish are we can be mobile if needed.

I fish bot regularly. Both great lakes and Sinclair can produce great in back of creeks in March
