Mirror Carp

Every year about this time the Carp and Gar leave Lake Sinclair and come up into the creeks and tributaries to spawn. While some believe that they won’t bite while spawning I hold to another theory. I believe with a bunch of them out there that some are getting ready to spawn and others are spawning. Then there is the third group that are hanging out smoking Marlboros on the sidelines. One of my favorite things during this time is to paddle my canoe up there in the grass amongst them and drop a baited hook into the love fest.
Once again my system worked with my friend Carl Rozier not only catching a Carp but catching an uncommon Mirror Carp!

Good guide work. Captain I‘ve caught a few of them on Hartwel myself. I consider them a “Trophy Carp” along with any over 10lb. They pull as hard as any fish Ive caught.
