My favorite field got plowed and we got a little rain so we went out a for 45 min and looked. Little man found this one and started screaming I got one lol. Also found this other piece. It was out in a field I’ve found a couple hundred points in and it looks unnatural to me. If it’s just a rock it won’t hurt my feelings fire away lol. One side the side you see is much smoother than the other side. Thanks!

Your son found a very nice point, looks like maybe a Hardee! You found a creek rock. :)

Very nice Hardee. That`s about as far north as I`ve heard of a Hardee being found. Congratulations to your son.

Thank you! I’m just fine with that lol. I figured I was wishful thinking!

Maybe.. Maybe not.

There is a similar animal my Dad found @ the
family farm way before I was kicking.

I don't pretend to be an expert BUT the one Dad found
was established as Indian by folks way older than us.

See if you can hit up Larry Witcher on book of faces.
(Monroe, Ga.)

He has a MONSTER collection (several hundred) of points and other things.

He'd know for sure and be glad to help.

;)

Is it petty to admit I'm jealous of a 4 year old! Beautiful point. Looks much better in his hands than an iPad, your are a good dad.

2bbshot,
I bet that rock was used for something by the natives or it probably wouldn't have been in the spot where you have found a couple hundred points. Found a few like that in high producing fields myself when no other similar type rocks are around the area.

Thanks! It was very out of place no rocks like that or of that size outside of a few big preforms. Is very smooth on one side and rough on the other. I held on to it.

Just because it's a normal, unworked river rock doesn't mean that it wasn't used for something, especially if it's the only smooth rock in the field. It just means that it wasn't shaped by man. It could have been carried there by someone and used as a tool for many different things.

Nice point for little man. I only find points when not looking. I'm going to try searching for creek rocks instead.
