My truck needs repainting....

I have a 1988 Toyota 4x4 that is in dire need of a paint job.

How much can I look to spend : and can anyone recommend someone in the Cumming/Dawsonville area

Take it to MACO they do a pretty good job and do it cheap! I would not spend a lot of money on a 1988 you will never recoup your money.

The days of the $700 paint job are gone for good at least in my world of insurance. Now a days, they charge us $500 for the tape, materials, and throwing the garbage away, not counting painting.

If it were me, and I just wanted it painted, I'd find some old boy that can do it at his house. Buy him the paint and turn him loose. Expect the job to be not too good. Runs, color mismatch an the like, but a fresh paint job none the less. It also wont likely be too long lasting of a job because he won't have the curing booth. However, it is an 88 model, and if it lasts another 4 or 5 years, it's lived a good life. You can probably get by like that for A few hundred dollars.

If you use a normal body shop, expect it to cost in excess of $2500.
