Headed to Navarre beach for the weekend, brought a few rods and reels. Any tips, tricks, do’s, or donts? This will be our first time down there. Not targeting any specific species just hoping to reel in something we can eat.

Never fished it but have visited the beach a few times with the family and the fishermen on the pier always seem to be doing ok.

Don't forgo fishing on the backside of the island. The sound holds some nice trout and flounder. There are always people fishing on the island side approach to the bridge, and if you head west beyond Navarre into the National Seashore area, you can wade into the sound about anywhere and wet a line.

I've never fished from the pier, but have watched and seen some nice cobia and kings taken there.

Hard to catch a mackerel from the pier anymore for the bottle nose dolphin. Put your bait on the bottom and catch an oversize bull red at will.
