Been playing around with a new-to-me old Stevens 220A 20 ga (28" barrel that mics .581"), and can't wait to tote it in the woods.

Here's the way it shoots some new-this-summer 2-3/4" 20 ga loads:

40 yds, 10" and 20" circles

2-3/4" 1-5/8 oz - 1078 fps, 11448 psi (new Gualandi wad)

I was pretty pleased with how the fixed full choke shoots them, though I'm certain I'll be seeing some more impressive numbers with proper turkey chokes. But dang, that thing kicks pretty durn good with the 1-3/4 oz and 1-7/8 oz payload at that velocity!

Hal, how's the poa/poi coincide? Are those patterns with 9 or 9.5?
As for rechoking, why? Looks mighty fine as is. My 220A shoots good enough with factory full as well. Those last two loads kill on both ends of the gun. o_O Gil

Looks good. Most them the guys cut the cone out to help on. I have seen some grown men have eyes water after the 12 one goes off. lol
