New design....shows promise

This is the first time I've had an order for a pure boning knife. This one is going to a moose hunter in Canada. He got with me and asked for a knife suitable for taking out the backstraps and such on Alaska-Yukon moose he hunts. He asked for a "fish filet knife on steroids" and here's what I came up with. This one is a rather good sized knife with about a 6" blade, a handle I redesigned from my filet knife, G-10 handles (he wanted red and black...Go Dawgs!), CPM154 stainless with a Rockwell hardness of 60.5. He also specified a pouch, to carry in his pack, rather than a belt sheath. After making the knife to his specs, I love it...I plan on making another boning knife for myself later on. Razor sharp and ready to get to work! Sorry for the poor quality of the photo....I'll do better next time.

Thanks for looking.

Looks hefty, yet the blade is not too big. I like it!

Very nice. I'm sure he'll love it.
