New to forum and bear hunting at Cohutta WMA

Hello everyone!
I wanted to introduce myself. I've been hunting since I was a kid,
And last year, was bitten by the bear bug. I went on the early firearm hunt at Cohutta last year and came back with 2 hogs instead. Someone killed a bear 100 yards from me, which was headed my way...I am looking for advise on bear at Cohutta. I grew up in Chatsworth, but now live in Marietta so time for me is limited.

Welcome to the forum. The main thing, is find the acorns. Just like deer that's the main food source in the fall.

Maybe some starting points. I only had 1 day to scout before the hunt so I went to where I had seen bears crossing the road off mill creek. I found the acorns, mostly red oak with some whites mixed in. I saw a group of deer when i scouted. And I did come back with a big hog my first time up there.
