I like it when folks in my camp get plastered at night. That means they’re sleeping in the next morning. More for me. :giggle:

We need Godly leaders in this country and I pray that our lord convicts your hearts
Jesus drank wine, probably on a daily basis. Unless you don't believe the Bible. Your moral argument falls short on religious reasons. I pray for the Lord to convict the hearts of those who pass self-righteous judgement on their brothers who are no more sinful than themselves.

Sounds like a bunch of pansies if you ask me.

I was thinking drunks but drunk pansies works too. Or you could call them pansy drunks and that would be just as accurate.

Growing up in deer camp in the 60's and 70's were some of the best times of my life. Until reading this I didn't know there were alcohol free deer camps. My granddaddy started taking me to be his bird boy on dove shoots around 1967. After the hunt all the men would bring out the half gallons of Early Times and Seagrams on the hood of their trucks. No camo hat was safe and no one got shot. Man I miss those days !!!

It teaches our kids about drinking responsibly and that moderate, controlled drinking is not an issue.

I had much rather have my daughter around responsible adults having a few drinks or even pointing out what happens when someone has too many, than to hide drinking from her and make her curious.

I've always thought kids that grew up with responsible drinkers are a lot less apt to go crazy with alcohol than kids that have been shielded from drinking.

Very well said!!!
I grew up in a social drinking family. The best huge family ever! Best upbringin ever!
Beer and whisky was not taboo for me. Laughter was often, loud and normal.
When I was a teen my buddies hidin beer under the car seat upholstery was not cool to me. I wasn't impressed and I knew better. I knew when and where and WHEN and WHEN NOT!!
If you think your teens won't be exposed to alchohol and dope then you must be in outer space!!!!
Raise em right!!!

Not sayin if you don't already drink that you should start drinkin around your kids! No no I'm not sayin that! I know CNN would make it that way though. Like that's what I meant.

Just do whatever you want and have fun and be safe and good luck!!!

The challenge is that moderation is hard to enforce without a breathalyzer. Enforcing drinking only "at the end of the day" is also hard to enforce.

Every gun club I know of has a strict "no drinking" policy and will escort you off the property immediately if any signs of drinking or drug use are apparent.

Guns, deer stands, and other stuff one encounters in the woods are dangerous and require significant care. I'm not a prohibitionist by any means. But there are some things drinking does not mix well with, and these include driving, boating, hunting, and shooting.

I dissagree!
You would have to clarify "drinking" in your last sentence! I'm happy to do all those things in your last sentence and "drinking"!

Some people on this thread are confusing "drinking" with an impaired dangerous person!!
I'm very proud of the people who had drinking problems and are recovering and quit drinking!!! My hats off to y'all!!! That's awesome!!!
Folks who just don't drink and never have and don't want to, hey that's cool too!!!

But most of us regular drinkers don't have to be "enforced". We just know. Actually.......I forgot where I was goin with this......

Anyway....let's NOT confuse "drinking" with a short term goal of being as impaired as possible!!!!! It's not the same thing!!! I just don't know how to explain it.

Guess what's in the pink drink bottle?

Everyone has fun around me and safety/resposibility is ALWAYS my FIRST priority! And I can do that without needin "enforcin"!!!!!!!

This is true as long as the eyewitness to the problem always has full enforcement authority. When those seeing and experiencing the problem need to convince a third party to solve the problem, it's a much different deal. Third parties are slow to take effective action many times when it is one person's word against another.
I would not hunt with any group of people who have "enforcement" and "authority" as a priority. I hunt with a group of friends. We have fun. We don't have problems. And we don't enforce things. And there is no authority.

That's how I roll most of the time. But one guy hunting on our property some years ago started breaking a number of laws and interfering with the enjoyment and use of a number of other folks. I spoke to him about things a number of times to no avail.

What to do? Pretend it was OK? Let all the neighbors get mad at us because he was leaving our property regularly to hunt on theirs? Sacrifice the enjoyment of all the folks doing right?

Of course not. I was the one signing hunting permission on a prime piece of private hunting land. I stopped signing his. Someone has that authority, and when someone is misbehaving badly, it's time to use it rather than pretend no one really has it.

My fishing boat is the same way, if you can't stay on the right side of the law and contribute to the positive experience of others on board, your days on my boat are numbered.

In that case, he would not hunt with us any more. Simple. I have never had issues like that. I am very picky about who I hunt with. I don't join lease clubs.

There is no place for drinking in a hunting club period. Guns and alcohol have never mixed and never will. What does that teach our kids. Shouldn’t even be a topic about it. Another sign of the ignorance of living outside of Gods plan

Where in the Bible does it say drinking alcohol is a sin?
