What guy did was wrong and no doubt should be punished. But one thing no one mentioned, what about his family? Having to pay a 18k fine, his kids may have to do without for killing an animal that will be killed one day anyway, probably by someone who has more money.

^^ This exactly is how democrats think....that everything is about what someone has relative to others. America was founded on having the opportunity to be rewarded for the good things YOU do, as well as punished for the mistakes YOU make. It's called accountability.

How about, don't break the law? Especially if you have other people (like kids) who depend on you...

I agree, don't break the law. It was a deer, not a person. Had he been drunk driving, punishment should be severe. Here folks are putting the value of an animal over humans, that my friend is liberal thinking.
