Old picture

An old picture of my dad born in 1916 , 103 years ago , that has hung in our house like forever. I asked him him a long time ago, what's with the fancy dress, did grandma want a girl? He grunted back, that's how they dressed all babies back then. Another pic of him in 1980. Liberty overalls looked a lot better on him. Just my opinion.

I've seen a picture of my Dad or uncle as a baby in a dress. This would have been in the 20's and it was still normal then. I'm not sure if it was just for pictures or if they wore them all the time. It would make diaper changing easier.

I think by the end of the 20's was when boys were no longer wearing dresses.

My wife said they were called dressing gowns.

Same with old pics of my grandpa as a toddler. It was common practice then.
