Old recurve repair

I have an old recurve that my papa gave me a long time ago and I was thinking about getting it out and shooting with it some,I was wondering if I should get it re laminated as it is chipping and flaking off.is there anyone that does that kinda work or would it be a waste of time and money.

Sounds like it just needs refinishing if is just peeling and chipping. You can do that your self just sand down and put some poly on it.

Is there a special kind that needs to be use so it can flex when I pull it back or will any kind work

No most any wipe on or spray will work
