*Our Merriewold New York Trip* (Pic Heavy)

Good afternoon everybody, we spent last week up in Merriewold New York at my In-Laws vacation place and I’ve posted on here about this special place before so most of you will remember this place that I’m talking about, but it has the prettiest population of largemouth bass of any lake I’ve ever fished. It’s been there for close to 130 years and other than a stocking in the early 1960’s it’s virtually left to itself to manage. I call it a perfect self-sustaining ecosystem. We caught bass and pumpkinseed sunnies and those nasty pickerel who love to slice your line and take your flukes, and also the ever so pretty Perch. It’s one of the most relaxing places that I get to travel to every year. This was the 2nd year in a row where we spend the 4th of July up there and they put on one heck of a fireworks show too.

It’s a family affair too as you will see pictures of my wife…..my son….and my daughter all with fish in their hands. A couple stats for the week………

Jaimelou won Big Fish honors with her 4-pound largemouth

Presley Girl won the “cutest” bass contest

Hunter Jack had the most catches in a single outing (18 on Sat. morning)

I caught the most for the week as I fish more than anybody else so that’s no surprise. I fish morning……noon……and evenings for 7-days straight. It’s AWESOME!!!

We drive to New York and it’s a 13-hour trip and we do it in one day so I’m slap wore out right now but I did want to share it with my GON Family. I hope you enjoy the pics and I got some Gopro footage that I’m going to be putting together in the coming days.

I don’t know much about the Perch species but I do think these are of the “Yellow Family”

They are beautiful fish though….their colors just “pop” I hear they are delicious tasting too so maybe next year we’ll keep a few and cook em up!!!!!

Yeah man…..he’ll be a 10th grader this upcoming school year and he looks like a full grown man.

He needs a haircut though……I’m pretty sure his Mimi took him today to take care of that! He looks like a dang rooster with it sticking out up top like that!
