Overall Length

I have been doing a lot of reading and research on overall length of a round and what I've found is that the common approach is to have the bullet just barely a smidgen off the lands for better accuracy.

This is one of those Internet Rumors that's based on a single grain of truth. This procedure is about #15 on a list of things you can do to gain accuracy in your RIFLE. People read that one thing, and run off to tell everyone else without bothering to read the other 14 things to do first.... IOW the "fine print".

• It DOES NOT apply to pistol or revolver
• It may be countered by your magazine length
• It can be dangerous, unless you really take the time to measure your chamber accurately

When done correctly and scientifically it can help. But unless you're talking about Benchrest or 1000 yd matches, then you've been taken in by an Internet rumor.
