Any guesses? Found about 2 years ago, but almost passed it by as a flake peice. Still super sharp. Thanks

That is a true arrowhead, from the late Woodland or Mississippian/Historical period-anywhere from 300 to a thousand years old.

The same basic point has several names, depending on where it's found. Hamilton, Uwharrie, Madison, Pinellas, all pretty much regional variations of the same point.

Nice find!

The bad part about finding one of those is now you have to pick up & examine EVERY little flint flake; ones you used to dismiss out of hand, you have to bend down, pick up & rub the dirt off... hard on your back.

They’re really cool though... Nice find.

Nice little point. Those are some of my favorites.

Points, flakes, chips or whatever I pick them all up not only for the chance of finding a gem like that one but just to take a moment of my life and think about those who lived in that moment of time.
Do y’all think we will leave anything as fascinating as these finds for future generations?
Jeff
